Of course, keeping one of the game’s most physically gifted receivers in check is much easier said than done. “In check” is relative, but the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook set his receiving yardage at 91.5.  A yes/no prop on whether Jones will score a touchdown is priced at -110 odds either way.

Through two weeks of action, Jones is averaging 102 yards per game and has scored one touchdown – he was on the brink of adding another, but fumbled prior to reaching the goal line in Atlanta’s Week 1 win against the Saints.

Jones hasn’t faced the Bucs since 2012, so it’s not worth citing prior head-to-head stats, but it is worth noting that Tampa’s pass defense (220.5 yards allowed per game) through two weeks of games may be misleading. Not only is the sample size tiny, but they’ve faced two teams – not to mention two backup quarterbacks – that rely heavily on their running games.

Take a look at what each Buccaneer opponent’s top receiver did against them: the Rams’ Brian Quick ended up with 74 receiving yards last week, while Panthers rookie Kelvin Benjamin racked up 92 yards and a touchdown in the season opener. Like Jones, both Quick and Benjamin are big-bodied receivers, but he is in a different league from those two.
