Tampa Bay decided to part with Koetter, 59, following Sunday’s 34-32 home loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

The Buccaneers finished 9-7 in Koetter’s first year at the helm in 2016, but they were 5-11 last season and again in 2018.

“We sincerely appreciate the hard work and commitment shown by Dirk over the past several years,” Buccaneers owner Joel Glazer said in a statement.

“Working with Dirk has been a pleasure and we wish him and his family all the best in the future. Our search for a new head coach will begin immediately and will be conducted by General Manager Jason Licht.”

The Bucs entered the day third in the NFL in yards per game (414.3), but were only 13th in the league in scoring (24.3 points per game).

Tampa Bay were horrid on defense, ranking 30th in the NFL in points allowed (28.7 ppg).
