Now, the band’s new song Butter has claimed the record for the most YouTube views within 24 hours, gaining over 113 million views in that time.

BTS’ Butter Sets Multiple YouTube Records

In August 2020, BTS debuted Dynamite, its first song entirely in English. It got around 101.1 million views on YouTube within the first 24 hours, which set the record.

The band’s new song, called Butter, landed on YouTube on May 21, 2021, and broke that record with 113 million views. Right now it has over 185 million views, though you can bet that number will only continue to grow.

It also set a new record for the largest YouTube music video premiere with more than 3.9 million concurrent viewers.

The band’s fans are known as the Army—a devoted group that were no doubt keen to help the song break records. In fact, the Army get a shout-out in the music video.

BTS performed Butter live for the first time at the Billboard Music Awards on May 23. At the time of writing, that performance was available has already racked up over 7.5 million views despite only being uploaded hours ago.
